Yesterday in our series about passive income, we discussed affiliate marketing opportunities as a possible way to establish ongoing earnings for working on a project just once. Today we will talk about additional ways to earn passive income online through informational products.

If you have information about a particular subject, hobby or area, you can share your expertise with others and charge money for it by distributing your own informational products online. You can create your own website or blog where you feature the ebooks or software you create to tell others about what you know. Everyone is looking for a “How To” when they attempt a new project, whether it is starting a business or washing their car.

You can write your own ebook and all you need is the creation software to get started. It only takes a few hours or days to put together for a small ebook, while larger ebooks can take months. The cost is low and then you can promote the product through search engines to earn money 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Take advantage of what you learned yesterday and add an affiliate program to really increase your number of sales and create multiple streams of income. You can allow others reprint rights of your ebook for a fee so they can place their own affiliate links in the book and you earn additional profits for your efforts.

Another idea is to create software to teach people “how to”. You can sell a short course you develop on a CD and make passive income from the sales.
